Considering how things go around here? I wouldn't be enormously surprised if these things spontaneously sprouted to get a rise out of us.

I didn't notice them before now, but I'd be the wrong person to ask.

Possibly? Hard to say. They're capable of plenty, though I have no way of proving if they're responsible or even capable of this.

As for Robin, her work doesn't gain her much in the way of trust. I don't think she's responsible, though you aren't wrong some might guess that on principle. I don't think it makes sense, it wouldn't benefit her to introduce something that would limit our effectiveness.

I agree. And the growing preoccupation with assigning blame is costing valuable time.

I suppose I asked because I wonder if some spirits are more capable than others. If it's a conscious decision or a reactive one. Have you had any luck getting to know them, or do you know anyone who has?

You're not wrong. Pointing fingers isn't likely to get us any closer to figuring out a solution to the creatures that are supposedly coming to snuff out what little life remains here. It's just hard for people to not want answers and resolutions when faced with things that scare them. Things they don't understand.

( Matt Gets It, he just doesn't think it's helping anything much. that said, maybe just accepting it as a part of Beacon isn't helping anything much, either. )

I've spoken to all of the spirits in town, some more than others. I know that they all communicate differently, and some can use morse code. ( since Matt is blind, he does sort of need another way to communicate besides gesture; that's why he knows. ) There are certainly some more capable of communication, like the Vendor or the Librarian. There are some that can hardly communicate at all, too — I'm taking care of one that doesn't seem to understand much in the way of language, more tone than anything else.

That said, there's plenty of people who might know more than me. Many of them speak in gesture, and I'm not able to follow that particularly well.
