( he's pretty lucky, as far as coverups go. a suit covers a hell of a lot of skin, and generally those that interact with him are never the wiser to the bumps and bruises (and lacerations, and fractures) that a nice dress shirt and often uneven tie cover so well. the problem tends to come when he gets a hit beyond what the expensive jackets and tailored pants can cover.
like, the bandage covering most of his left hand, that he claimed upon greeting was just a burn from grabbing the wrong part of his coffee pot. yet as they pull through more files on dealings that may or may not be related to Wilson Fisk, he reaches too far and stretches the stitches past their limit and he can smell the copper of his own blood in repayment.
he tries not to make a note of his discomfort, gingerly pulling his hand back to press at the gauze with a thumb. he can smell the blood, but he can't tell if it's seeped through the bandage yet. hopefully he can excuse himself to change it before Kara notices anything. ) Find anything? ( he asks, a hopeful distraction as he reaches for his cane. this time, with the hand that hadn't caught a shuriken the night before. probably the better choice, all things considered. )
