Not even the Hand could entirely lock down an entire town, or I'm sure they would have. There's got to be a way out somewhere.

The Hand also couldn't make us weaker or dull our senses. Unless you can smell what someone ate three days ago again and haven't filled me in on that, either.

[ the real problem is he'd done it after deliberately avoiding her until he needed her for something again, and while that tracks with what she knows about him, she doesn't appreciate it. if they were back home it would be one thing, but they're not, and there are more important things to worry about than her potentially asking about his not death again.

Sure. And we definitely made ourselves targets if they were looking for vengeance for us trying to interfere with their plans. But why do it in such a small town? Why bring so many others with us that don't have anything to do with them? You've been fighting them longer than I have, does any of that sound like them?
